What is a pumpkin's Favourite sport?

SQUASH!!

Today,  I made a chocolate cake that looked like a pumpkin as it's hallowe'en this week.  I did it completely by myself apart from a bit of help putting it in and out of the oven.

I got the chocolate cake recipe from the BBC website where it showed Edd Kimber making it.  He won the Great British Bake Off in 2010.  The icing design was all my idea.

The cake was pretty easy to make, simple instructions and a simple recipe to follow.  I enjoyed making it even though some bits were hard, such as the icing and decorating.  It didn't quite go as I'd planned and I had to change the mouth because it was a bit too hard to do.  So now it looks a bit happier as well.

I used cocktail sticks to do the lines and then I filled them with the dark chocolate icing.  I used a pasta cutter to do the edges of the leaves.  I used orange, green, black and cream icing.  Some of the dark icing was flavoured dark chocolate and some flavoured caramel.

It was good fun and I really enjoyed it.    I started at about 1 o'clock and finished at quarter past five.  It took a lot of effort and concentration!

Below are two photos of the cake before it was finished.

Great design Charlotte! Superb, and well done for carrying it through, as it took a deal of focus to do that. xx
